What the Conveyor Roller Head Is Built For
The Conveyor Roller Head is a flat roller for moving structural material along its length. That includes angle, channel, flat bar, square and rectangular tube, and beam up to 10″ wide. A V-head can’t hold this kind of stock well. Flat-bottomed shapes rock or tip in a V, and a flat roller gives them a stable bed. Material slides straight across the rollers instead of fighting the head, whether you are feeding stock into a band saw or lining two pieces up to set a gap.
Getting Smooth, Straight Feeds
On anything longer than a few feet, use at least two heads spaced along the material so it stays level as it moves. Set every stand to match the height of your saw or table. A head that sits even slightly high will catch the leading edge of flat stock, and that edge is where most snags happen. Keep heavier pieces centered on the rollers so the load spreads evenly across both bearings.
Conveyor Roller Head vs. V-Conveyor Head
The flat Conveyor Roller Head is the right choice for structural shapes. Round pipe can roll sideways off a flat surface, though, so for pipe and round tube up to 24″, the V-Conveyor Head is the better fit. Both heads slip onto the same jack stands, so you can switch between them as the material on your table changes.
